Operations on classification
To access classification :
select Classification > Define Lookup Values
List and edition of classification box
This box on the left of the main window displays the list of standards
classification attributes as well as your own classification attributes
that you create in this list.
This list can be classified in two ways:
- alphanumeric order by
clicking on the Sort button.
When you click on this button, it will turn blue indicating that the sorting
is active and that the list is kept in alphanumeric order.
- depending on your choice
with Move down or Move up
buttons . To act on these buttons, we need the Sort
button
is disabled.
List and edition of values and sub-values box
This box on the right of the main window displays :
- at the top, the values
and sub-values list of attribute selected in the left list box. Move down or Move up buttons are
used to display, in the PLM, the values depending on your choice.
- at the bottom, the list
of objects types to which these criteria are applied.
Add a classification attribute
- Select Classification
> Define Lookup Values.
- In the list and edition
of attributes box, click on Add button.
- at the end of the list,
plus an empty field awaiting edition.
- Enter the classification
name.

If you want to enter multiple values consecutively, after each entry
press the Enter key. A blank line
will appear below the last value entered.

Add a value or sub-value to a classification
attribute
- Select
Classification > Define Lookup Values .
- In the list and edition
of classification attributes box,, click on the attribute name to which
you want create a value.
- In the list and edition
of criteria box, click on Add (Ctrl
+ N) button or, for a sub-value, with the right mouse button, click
on the "father" value then select Add Sub-Value.(Ctrl + Tab).
- at the end of the list,
plus an empty field awaiting edition.
- Enter the attribute name
then validate with Enter key .

Rename an attribute or a value
- With the right mouse
button, click on the attribute or value then select Rename
- the name is selected.
- Enter the modification.
Delete an attribute or a value
- With the right mouse
button, click on the attribute or value then select Delete
- only
for values, a dialog box appears to confirm

Deleting a value removes its sub values. The standard classification
attributes can not be deleted.
